The University College of Education of Winneba is established as a "Teachers' College" with one overriding mission, and that is, to prepare teachers and other-education professionals for service to the nation. 

The teachers that will be produced by the University College will teach mainly in Senior Secondary Schools and Basic Teacher Training Colleges. Also the University College will prepare teachers for career-oriented training institutions like nursing training colleges and agricultural colleges of the RECAAST System. 

It is expected that some of the products of the University College will assume leadership roles, as curriculum developers, instructional coordinators and supervisors, in pre-school education, basic education and in the functional literacy program.
